A little taster – Dentistry Show 2012

The Dentistry Show is delighted to reveal some of the most highly respected dental experts who will be hosting seminars, lectures and live theatres on their specialist subjects at this exciting event.

Travelling from all over the world, the speakers will share new ideas and expertise on subjects ranging from patient psychology to restorative dentistry.

Chairing the Aesthetic Dentist programme is Dr Michael Cahill, Director of the award winning Cahill Dental Centre in Bolton, Lancashire. He says: ‘I am greatly honoured to have been selected to be the Chair of the Aesthetic Dentist programme at this year’s show, and cannot believe the range and quality of international and UK speakers who will be present.’

Dr Cahill, in his presentation ‘The Opening Welcome’, will introduce the programme and the speakers, who will guide you through the art and science of aesthetics, restoration of severely worn teeth, minimal invasive dentistry and the notion of chasing perfection. The speakers include:

Dr Michael Morgan: ‘Conservative Aesthetic Solutions in Young Adult Patients’

‘I’m looking forward to The Dentistry Show and am excited and honoured to be presenting; I’ve worked with amazing people over the years who have shared their knowledge and experience with me. Now it’s my turn to share with others.’

Dr Morgan will demonstrate minimally invasive restoration techniques for treatment, particularly with regard to patients in their teens, twenties and early thirties.

Dr Harris Sidelsky: ‘To Drill or not to Drill – That is the question’

‘I am very excited to share my ten year old passion in what for me has been one of the most satisfying areas in dentistry.’

Dr Sidelsky will briefly outline the main principals of minimal invasive dentistry and provide application in diagnosis and treatment of carious legions.

Dr Didier Dietschi: ‘Conservative Restoration of Aesthetics and Function in Patients with severe tooth wear’

‘The topic is a timely preoccupation due to the ongoing increase in parafunctional activities witnessed nowadays; I look forward sharing my conservative approach to this problem with the attendees of the Dentistry Show.’

Dr Dietschi will look at the use of composite in simple to complex functional and aesthetic rehabilitations.

Dr Steve Rasner: ‘Realising the Dream’

‘As a young dentist, I never dreamed I would have the opportunity to share my philosophy of care with colleagues all over the world. It is an honour and a responsibility I don’t take lightly. I have but one goal: To leave the audience with a presentation they will not soon forget!’

Drawing on 30 years of experience, Dr. Rasner explains the protocols and foundations that can elevate any dental practice to extraordinary levels of successful growth and profitability.

Dr Elaine Halley: ‘Chasing Perfection – The Human Factor’

‘The quest for the ‘perfect smile’ is demanded of us by both our patients and our profession and we have the tools and the data to be able to strive towards this.’

The psychology of the human quest for beauty is fascinating. Dr Halley will share with you her understanding of how we can take this knowledge and use it to better understand our patients, ourselves and the partnerships we form, when working towards enhanced aesthetics.

Dr Ken Harris: ‘The Ovate Pontic technique: A predictable approach to ideal soft tissue aesthetics when replacing missing teeth with conventional fixed bridges’

’I always look forward to the Dentistry show, and this year it looks better than ever. I’m really looking forward to sharing some clinical hints and tips with my own presentation, but of course I’ll also be looking out for a few more “Pearls” from the other presentations too. See you there!’

Although implantology has opened up many new avenues, it is difficult when controlling soft tissue architecture in the aesthetic zone. Conventional bridges are still a viable option, due to their more easily predictable aesthetics and the “Ovate Pontic” technique is easy to learn and implement.

Dr Jason Smithson ‘Smart Solutions For Tough Economic Times: An Overview’ – see call sheet

Dr Jeff Blank –  ‘Anterior interior All-Ceramic Restorations: The art and Science of Exquisite Aesthetics’ – see call sheet

Dr Anoop Maini ‘Short Term Orthodontics for every GDP’ –

‘Practitioners believe the concept of fixed brackets to be difficult but last year, I had the opportunity to show them it was, in fact, very easy, by demonstrating in the fantastic live theatre.  We sold a year’s worth of seminars after that show.’

New this year is an event titled ‘Future Dentist’ which is conference where leading figures will share their strategies for the future, while key policy makers will tell you what lies ahead for the dental profession.
