Dentist cycles to Paris for charity

A dentist from Swanage, Dorset is cycling to Paris to raise money for a charity supporting a little boy from St Leonards.

Andy Thomas, 44, has pledged to raise £3,500 for DEBRA. The charity works on behalf of people like Mason White, who has a rare genetic condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), causing his skin to blister at the slightest touch.

Andy’s wife, Rachel, heard about Mason’s situation when her daughter was attending dance classes at the school where Mason’s mum, Kerry, teaches. Andy said: ‘It’s a three-day cycle at approximately 100 miles per day with around 450 riders. My wife, Rachel, told me about it. She said there were some places on a London to Paris ride for DEBRA, so I applied. We’re well on the way to raising the money, my patients have all been chipping in.’

Andy will set off from London on 21 June.
