This September the British Dental Association and Colgate are partnering to raise awareness of the importance of family oral health. Colgate Oral Health Month aims to inform and educate the general public on the importance of good oral health and to encourage communication between dental professionals and patients. The theme for the 2013 campaign is ‘Your Smile, Your Family, Your Health’ which will raise awareness of good oral health for the whole family.
Practices registered for Colgate Oral Health Month will receive practice packs containing patient samples and educational materials. These will help dental teams engage with children and their families about the importance of oral health and how it contributes to overall health. Practices can participate in Colgate Oral Health Month in many ways including creating a practice display on family oral health, or going out to a local school and talking to children about brushing their teeth.
2 hours verifiable CPD
Colgate are providing 2 hours verifiable CPD with the Colgate Oral Health Month 2013 Programme ‘Delivering Prevention Together’. Building on last year’s module, dental professionals can review how they currently deliver evidence-based prevention messages to families, and consider what additional support and information is required to help enhance patient understanding and aid compliance. Visit www.colgateprofessional.co.uk from 1 September 2013 to download the programme.
