It’s not an easy decision to make but nevertheless, dentist, Dr Tim Doswell from The Smile Spa dental practice in Stockton-on-Tees, decided that 2013 would be the year he competes in an Iron Man challenge.
Over the past eight months, Tim has trained intensively for the gruelling course which includes; 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run, for which he is raising funds for Liverpool’s Alderhey Children’s hospital.
Simon Andrews, clinical director of The Smile Spa, said: 'We are all immensely proud of Tim’s effort and determination. He has trained hard and we wish him all the very best on the day.'
Tim added: 'I’ve previously completed triathlons, but the Iron Man challenge is on a completely different level. It’s going to be incredibly intense but I’m hoping to enjoy it!’
