Just days before the official announcement of this year’s top 12 acts, the X-Factor finalists enjoyed having their teeth whitened by Philips Zoom as part of their makeover for the ever-popular live shows.
Using the chairside light-activated system at a top secret location, the contestants’ teeth were whitened by up to six shades in an hour, by Jeremy Hill and his colleagues from the Ware Centre of Dental Excellence in Hertfordshire.
To ensure their celebrity smiles go the distance, the contenders were also each given a Philips Sonicare toothbrush. This will not only help maintain their whiter smile but also ensure their teeth and gums are in tip top condition throughout the show.

Footage of the session, including close ups of the Zoom lamp, will be shown on The Xtra Factor on ITV2 this weekend, potentially prompting an increase in whitening requests from patients.
