Straumann ‘retains number one title’

Despite the sluggish economic environment, which has seen patients defer implant treatment or opt for cheaper alternatives, Straumann’s premium product portfolio has made positive developments over the past year.

In fully launching the NNC small diameter implant, which effectively combines the benefits of the high strength material Roxolid with the hydrophilic surface SLActive and a new Loxim transfer piece, the global leader has successfully stabilised implant sales whilst offering greater confidence in all cases. Significant growth was also reported with their regenerative range, as their well-documented Emdogain minimised in size, making the easy-to-apply gel more affordable for a broader range of patients when regenerating soft and hard tissue.

Moving progressively faster than any other sector, Straumann continues to improve the digital workflow and solutions; successfully integrating Cares CAD/CAM into the Dental Wings open standard software platform (DWOS). From a prosthetics perspective, laboratories benefited from the new scan and shape service, enabling those without scanning capabilities the opportunity to obtain high-quality Straumann Cares prosthetics without investing in CAD/CAM equipment.

In underpinning number one global leadership, Straumann remains committed to providing on-going training and education on the benefits of their product portfolio. With over 60,000 dental professionals worldwide attending their educational events alongside their continuing product advancements – Straumann are the ideal provider to help the next generation of dentists shape the future of implant dentistry.
