To give you a sneaky peek at what the Workshop Theatre has to offer, business consultant Sheila Scott gives us a taster of what you can expect from her sessions.

‘We all want to know how to motivate others and employee engagement has been described as the master key that unlocks employee performance.

‘I have been working with dental teams for more than 20 years and will be bringing my extensive experience of helping managers and leaders develop individual and team performance to my sessions at the Dentistry Show.

Creating an engaged team

‘Studies show that it isn’t just “the luck of the draw” when putting a team together, but excellent leadership and management qualities in managers and owners that create and develop engaged teams.

‘Great teams need great managers – managers who are clear about exactly what they need team members to do and how, and someone who coaches individuals to achieve first the necessary tasks, and then to reach their potential – a manager who goes the extra mile. It is thought to be great communication skills and individual attention that helps each team member do their jobs well and also enjoy what they do.

‘Great leaders inspire by being good people, and are also clear about the vision for the future of the practice – understanding what is to be achieved, why and how. Great leaders also really do care about each of the individuals in the team and how they feel and think about the business and its success.

Go the extra mile

‘I’ll be presenting my 10 top tips for getting the most out of your team members, sharing skills for motivating and inspiring your team and highlighting the avoidable pitfalls along the way. My session will encourage you to work towards better team engagement and you’ll find out what helps team members go the extra mile, and which management approaches you can put into place to achieve higher productivity and happiness at work.

‘Be prepared for a session that will engage, motivate and inspire you! If you’re responsible for team performance and leading your team then this is definitely the lecture for you. In fact, get it in your diary and book your place now.’
