On the 13 December, the Sterling Dental Foundation hosted a spectacular and unforgettable charity ball in support of ‘Bobby’s Walk Full Circle’.
Held at the luxurious Radisson Blu Portman Hotel, London, lucky attendees were able to network with colleagues and friends, and enjoy top class entertainment, a champagne reception and award winning cuisine, while hearing all about India Association chairman, Bobby Grewal’s courageous journey and the charities he is so passionate about.
Bobby’s Walk Full Circle is one man’s five-month, 2,600-mile trek across India, in aid of Save the Children and other charities.
At 79 years old Bobby will undertake this epic challenge, walking across India from Kanyakumari in the south to Delhi in the north.
President of the Sterling Dental Foundation, Dr Shareena Ilyas, was delighted that so many distinguished guests, dignitaries and members of the profession were able to attend and show their support, saying: ‘It was fantastic to see so many people come out to support Bobby and this exceptional cause.
‘It was an honour to have so many illustrious guests and prominent figures in attendance and I would like to thank everyone who made a contribution.
‘The Sterling Dental Foundation is dedicated to helping worthy causes like Bobby’s walk, both in the UK and abroad, and will continue to do so for many years to come.’
Completing this gigantic task across India, Bobby hopes to raise £1,500,000 for Save the Children and the India Association, which will distribute the funds to other charities here in the UK and abroad.
At the ball, Bobby spoke of his gratitude and appreciation towards the Sterling Dental Foundation for supporting this cause in such a memorable fashion and encouraged volunteers to join him along the way.
In association with The Dental Directory and Healthcare Learning: Smile-on, the Sterling Dental Foundation Charity Ball raised an astounding £7,995 for the charity.
The night’s proceedings were hosted by renowned radio presenters from Sunrise Radio, Farah Ahmed and Bob Bee.
The pair compered the evening, introducing the wonderful bhangra dancers and calling a fabulous silent auction and raffle.
On the evening, the foundation was delighted to welcome many dignitaries who showed their support.
Also present were many guests of honour, each of whom shared their thoughts and gave thanks to Bobby Grewal for his ceaseless contributions to so many charities.
But the fun isn’t over yet!
Bobby’s walk begins in 2015 and the Sterling Dental Foundation invites you to walk alongside Bobby for this very worthwhile cause.
Dentists, hygienists and dental care professionals can join in at various legs of his walk, adding smiles, lighting up beautiful faces and raising oral health awareness along the way!
