Implant courses from VSS Dental

Screen Shot 2016-09-26 at 14.50.08VSS Dental has places available on its Certificate in Implant Dentistry courses, with dates in Birmingham and London.

Each course runs over 10 full days (one Saturday a month for 10 months). The Birmingham course starts 8 October at The Marriott Birmingham Hotel, with the London course running at London Bridge Hotel, starting 16 March 2017.

The lead lecturer for each course in Dr Fadi Barrak (pictured) –  a specialist in oral surgery, Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the academic lead for the Masters course in dental implantology at the University of Central Lancashire. Dr Barrak has a combined experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery in both hospital and primary care settings since 1994. He was, until recently honorary consultant at both West Middlesex and Ealing hospitals. He is also a mentor for the Association of Dental Implantology and the ITI. He has been placing implants since 1998, constituting over 90% of his clinical work. Having always been interested in clinical education, he has had the privilege of mentoring numerous colleagues over the last eight years who range from beginners to experienced surgeons.

The course consists of a series of ten full-day intensive workshops comprising morning lectures and afternoon group discussions, case studies, practical demonstrations and hands-on sessions. Successful completion of the course leads to the award of the VSS Academy Certificate in Implant Dentistry and full attendance also provides 80 hours of verifiable CPD. VSS is also hosting a one-day Introduction to Implant Treatment Coordination course at the London Bridge Hotel on Saturday 12 November. Dental professionals will learn the important values and skills required for successful Specialist Treatment Coordination (STC), through a series of interactive training, presentations and workshops throughout the day.

Delegates will be provided with the tools and capabilities to communicate with patients effectively through various methods. The course will assist STCs in managing patients’ expectations and identifying patient needs; enabling patients to make an informed and powerful choice about their specialist treatment.
