Tipton Training courses accredited with postgraduate level status

Tipton Training explains why it has decided to become nationally-recognised by a UK awarding body.

Courses from one of the UK’s leading dental academies are in the process of being added to nationally-recognised UK qualification frameworks. The initial stages to this approval – granting of approved centre status by a UK awarding body and accreditation of courses as being postgraduate level – have been completed.

As such, the courses starting September 2017 will lead to the achievement of postgraduate level vocationally-related qualifications.

Nationally recognised qualifications

A level seven course is a nationally recognised and guaranteed level of quality. This status is only awarded to courses after the curriculum, its method of delivery and assessment is verified by a UK awarding body such as Eduqual.

Eduqual’s review of the courses supports the view that Tipton Training will provide its delegates with an opportunity to meet all the knowledge and skills descriptors typically associated with (UK) postgraduate level courses.

‘We have been working very hard to become a nationally approved training centre,’ explains Vivek Gupta, CEO of Tipton Training.

‘Our plans are on track and we expect out courses to be listed on the two national qualifications frameworks – the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) by December 2017, and the Ofqual Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) sometime next year. This means courses starting September 2017 now lead to postgraduate level vocationally-related qualifications – something that will help dentists stay at the forefront of the industry, by getting higher level, quality assured and credible education that lets them deliver better treatments to their patients.’

Approved Eduqual centre

Eduqual centres invest heavily in resources, demonstrate robust assessment and internal quality assurance procedures, and possess a dedicated senior management team. As an approved Eduqual centre, Tipton Training is committed to maintaining these standards while providing a high-quality learning experience.

Jason Raife, chief executive officer of Eduqual, says: ‘It’s great to be associated with the leaders in the dental educational industry. Eduqual has reviewed Tipton Training’s suite of dentistry courses to ensure they are fit-for-purpose, meet the very latest industry requirements and should provide dentists with an opportunity to progress their careers.’

Tipton Training has developed 10 postgraduate level qualifications – they are:

Flexible financing

In addition to making the courses independently quality assured and more credible, Tipton Training has been working on improving the access to the courses as well. Tipton Training is now authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to offer interest-free finance to dentists.

This means that the academy can now introduce interest-free capital to delegates so that they can choose to finance their courses over 24 months.

‘Dentists no longer have to worry about paying large sums up-front. With our flexible interest-free option, dentists can now stagger their payments over a more manageable length of time,’ adds Vivek Gupta.
