Dave Stone (DS): Ismile is a fantastic practice management and clinical record keeping piece of software.
Dentistry.co.uk: Why did you decide to install Ismile in your practice?
DS: I chose to install Ismile after a thorough comparison of the different systems.
Ismile stood out as being very well designed and a minimalistic system, but with nearly all the power of the more expensive systems.
Dentistry.co.uk: How was the transition to Ismile?
DS: I knew that moving from paper notes to a computer system would be quite a leap so I was anticipating problems and a steep learning curve.
Ismile provided a day of training on the software for the whole practice, which really helped to ease us in on day one.
Dentistry.co.uk: What have the benefits been since you’ve had it installed?
DS: We have seen a large decrease in patients missing appointments as we now have an automated appointment reminder system via email and text messaging.
The ability to use templates for our notes has greatly improved our record keeping. There are a multitude of reports that can instantly generate data for audits and allow me to analyse cash flow, patient treatments undertaken and many more.
The paperless system has streamlined my practice through its ability to sign FP17s, medical histories and custom questionnaires etc.
Dentistry.co.uk: What has the aftersales service been like?
DS: The aftersales service is second to none and one of the best aspects of Ismile. Having had the system for nearly two years I have worked with my named adviser (an actual person!) who is easy to access and has the answers to all my questions within seconds.
The aftersales service is also a two-way process, they listen to my recommendations for any problems I encounter and continually make an excellent system even better with the regular free updates.

DS: I would absolutely recommend Ismile to anyone moving from paper notes or from an existing system.
