Philips has announced it will launch its new toothbrush, the Philips Sonicare Protectiveclean, at the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show.
The new range of toothbrushes, which include Philip’s Sonicare patented technology – 31,000 brush strokes per minute, are designed to make good oral health more accessible to the general public.
The Protectiveclean range will have different price points and include important features, which Philips say have been recommended by dental professionals and patients, including:
- Pressure sensor technology to alert users when they’re brushing too hard
- A two-minute timer to encourage patients to brush for longer
- A brush head replacement reminder, to ensure the toothbrush is always performing at peak performance.
The Philips Sonicare Protectiveclean toothbrush has been proven to reduce gum disease by up to 100% and remove up to seven times more plaque than a manual toothbrush.
To support the launch, Philips is working with industry experts, Dr Ben Atkins, clinical director of Revive Dental and Anna Middleton, dental hygienist, London Hygienist, to collect patient feedback and experience of using the new toothbrush.
Collating user feedback and results from more than 50 previous manual toothbrush users over a four-week period, Dr Ben Atkins and Anna Middleton will present their results at the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show in May.
