First ever Private Dentistry Show welcomes over 1,000 delegates

Seb Evans reports from the first Private Dentistry Show – a new breed of dental exhibition.

The first Private Dentistry Show was a resounding success after launching in London on Saturday (15 September) to over 1,000 delegates.

The first free-to-attend exhibition dedicated to private dentistry hosted 160 leading exhibitors and featured thousands of the dental world’s best products.

Power lectures addressed how to make that leap into private dentistry and how to develop current private dental businesses.

‘The number of delegates that attended the Private Dentistry Show proves how popular the private side of dentistry is becoming’, said Leanna Ellis, events director at FMC.

‘The exhibition was an absolute success with many delegates commenting on how they feel reenergised and invigorated after talking to exhibitors at the show.

‘We’ve already confirmed next year’s Private Dentistry Show, which will take place on 14 September 2019 at Olympia. So be sure to save the date and register your attendance to continue the momentum next year.’

Leading lectures

Delegates had the opportunity to hear from leading clinicians throughout the day, with a contrasting range of national and international speakers.

The bite-sized ‘power talks’ ranged from marketing, business profitability and the latest digital technology trends to dentolegal advice and risk management.

‘We wanted to include a wide range of topics to cater to all levels of private dentistry,’ Craig Welling, commercial director at FMC, said.

‘There was something for everyone, whether you’re considering expanding into private dentistry or you’ve been in private dentistry for years.

‘We kept the lectures to only 20 minutes, meaning we could run a lot throughout the day on a variety of topics.

‘This style of lecturing also meant attendees could pick up a number of pearls of wisdom in a short space of time and also gave the opportunity to chat to speakers and exhibitors afterwards if delegates needed more information.’

Enhanced CPD Dentistry UK

Running alongside the Private Dentistry Show was Enhanced CPD Dentistry UK, where delegates could gain a substantial amount of CPD hours on recommended subjects.

There were also additional lecture theatres throughout the exhibition hall covering digital dentistry and aesthetic dentistry.

The marquee sponsor, Mediestates, also gave out a free glass of Bucks Fizz and a year’s subscription to one of FMC’s journals to all delegates that came to its stand.

‘We tried to cover every aspect of dentistry at the show, giving away a substantial amount of enhanced CPD, and best of all, it was completely free!’ FMC’s Leanna Ellis, explained.

‘The lecture theatres were well oversubscribed with leading speakers such as Harry Singh, Simon Chard and Ivona Igerc pulling in the crowds.

‘We’ll have to make sure we order extra seats next year.’

If private dentistry is an area you would like to develop then this event is an absolute must for next year.
