FMC also hosts awards for the dental industry. Here are the 2018 winners and a precis of the event and process.

The Dental Industry Awards honours organisations and individuals whose passion, talent and expertise make the greatest contributions to excellent provision of dental products and services to the UK dental profession.

In November last year, the third annual Dental Industry Awards was held in London in an evening black tie awards ceremony attended by the dental industry and held on behalf of them by FMC.

Celebrating the best

The 2018 Dental Industry Awards once more celebrated the best companies, efforts and individuals over the past 12 months, as well as honouring Stephen Price of Belmont for a lifetime’s outstanding achievement to the dental industry. Mr Price received a standing ovation and was described to attenders as: ‘An employee just like many of us who has set the bar high for decades, representing his employer in the most professional, approachable and friendly manner. For that he is hugely respected. His contribution to the dental industry is long standing, and his commitment is without question. And there is no-one who has a bad word to say about him. He is truly deserving of this award.’

Sponsors of the event were Four Health Media. The event was held in association with the British Dental Industry Association and run, of course, by FMC.

There were many categories and the event was hosted by the chairman of the judging panel, Dr David Houston BDS, and FMC’s Leanna Ellis.

The awards aims to highlight and reward companies and individuals who dedicate their careers and go above and beyond to improve dentistry and innovate new ideas and techniques.

Entries in the following categories are judged by a judging panel made up of captains of industry and leaders in the dental profession. They range from professors and deans of dental schools to CEOs of large companies.
