Another sold-out event!

IAS Academy explains why its ABB course keeps selling out and the next available dates to book onto.

A universal sign for quality and demand, training courses from IAS Academy have repeatedly sold out over the past year. January 2019 was no different, with the unique ABB (align, bleach and bond) course selling out once again!

This innovative training programme is designed to help general dental practitioners (GDPs) approach cases in a more comprehensive and holistic way. It demonstrates the benefit of combining orthodontic and restorative techniques to deliver functional, aesthetic and stable treatment outcomes for a wide array of patients. It does all this by using only minimally invasive concepts, helping to not only preserve the maximum amount of natural tooth structure for every patient, but also facilitating the long-term success of treatment.

What’s included?

Pioneered by Tif Qureshi, the ABB concept utilises anterior alignment orthodontics to re-position the teeth for functional goals, before tooth whitening and composite edge bonding are used to further improve the aesthetics of the smile. The two-day entry-level course covers:

  • Orthodontic assessment and diagnosis
  • Arch evaluation
  • Occlusal and functional planning
  • Hands-on experience using IPR (interproximal reduction)
  • Retention of the teeth
  • How to use the Inman Aligner and Clear Aligner Light appliances
  • Teeth whitening
  • Utilising landmark points and envelope of function
  • Edge bonding, theory and hands-on
  • Hands-on experience of PPR (predictive proximal reduction) shaping
  • How to use the Dahl principle theory and hands-on
  • Patient communication for long-term care.

As with all IAS Academy courses, this training emphasises the importance of correct case selection, assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning. It is presented by highly-experienced GDPs in the field and applies all theory to practical implementation to ensure delegates’ competence and confidence.

But that’s not everything. IAS Academy has long advocated the need for continued support and mentorship, in order for GDPs to deliver safe, effective and ethical treatment to all their patients. The dedicated online forum is therefore the ideal platform for delegates to post photos of their cases and seek approval or guidance from the experts. It’s also a useful resource to share ideas and ask questions among peers and mentors, so individuals are not left on their own once they finish the training.

What’s all the fuss about?

‘The ABB course was excellent, with good, relevant content and quality speakers. This course appealed to me because it’s designed specifically for GDPs doing orthodontic/restorative dentistry. It was better than other courses I’ve taken on similar subjects and I have been able to improve my skills. Supported by the ethical and well-led ethos of the IAS Academy, I would recommend the ABB course to others.’ – Dr Akash Minhas.

To see what all the fuss is about, book yourself onto an ABB course with IAS Academy! Dates currently still available include:
