Welsh dental practice opens first surgery with HSBC UK backing

A South Wales dental practice has secured a six-figure funding package from HSBC UK to open its first dental surgery in a disused office block in Neath Port Talbot

Dunes Dental Care has used the funding to acquire and renovate the building, which is set over two floors, as well as furnish the new surgery with equipment.

The building will be used for all patients and will include two surgery rooms, a large reception area and waiting room.

The practice, which is due to open this spring, will offer both NHS and private dental care for those in the Neath and Port Talbot area.

James Bater, director of Dunes Dental Care, said: ‘We’re thrilled to be able to open our first surgery with the bank’s support, especially in Neath and Port Talbot where there is a high demand and real need for dental services.

‘HSBC UK, and in particular the expertise and guidance of our relationship manager Andrew Drummond, has allowed us to secure the best funding to do this and we are now able to continue giving our existing clients the best care, as well as allowing us to grow our client base.’

Phil Sargeant, HSBC UK’s area director for South Wales, said: ‘HSBC UK is proud to be helping Welsh businesses realise their growth ambitions and to see new businesses like Dunes Dental Care opening in the areas that need them most.

‘We look forward to watching the business thrive and supporting the company in the months and years to come.’

Dunes Dental Care will open 1 April 2019 and is taking new NHS patients.
