The next British Society of Paediatric Dentistry conference will be held on 11 –13 September at Birmingham’s Repertory Theatre
The importance of collaboration and interdisciplinary working between paediatric dentists and medical teams will be evident throughout BSPD’s 2019 conference.
With the theme ‘Hearts and Minds’, the conference will jointly focus on the holistic management of patients with cardiac conditions and how mental health can affect both patients and teams.
It will host renowned specialists involved in caring for children with cardiac conditions, to share their knowledge and expertise.
Mental health issues affecting children will also be explored, along with the impact these can have on oral health.
The importance of our own mental health will also be discussed, with sessions looking at preventing burnout and wellbeing within the workplace.
The winner of the BSPD’s Outstanding Innovation Award, Helen Rogers will give a short presentation on her prize winning trainee-led research collaborative CONNECT Trainees.
The Study Day hosted by Teacher’s Branch will be held on Tuesday 10 September prior to the main conference and registration for this is via the main conference website.
The venue for the conference is Birmingham’s Repertory Theatre.
BSPD’s incoming President, Sarah McKaig and BSPD local organising committee chair, Alison James, said the Midlands branch of BSPD are looking forward to welcoming delegates to Birmingham for a thought provoking and informative BSPD conference.
