Worldwide renown and steady growth in the dental industry

Voco explains why its innovative products are reliable, renowned and ultramodern.

With massive growth and outstanding product quality, the family-owned dental company Voco has now developed into one of the leading manufacturers in the industry.

Voco offers branded products in the fields of preventative, restorative and prosthetic dentistry and enjoys high renown, both in Germany and abroad, often leading the way in the respective fields thanks to innovative approaches and solutions.

The company carries out its research, development and production at its company headquarters in Cuxhaven, Germany, which has expanded steadily since the company was founded.

Following completion of the new main building with its training centre and the ultramodern R&D complex in 2013, the production capacities have been extended with a new, two-storey production facility in 2017.

The continuous positive development is reflected not only in the expansion of the site, but also in the expanded product range. Voco has stood for particularly reliable brand quality in the field of restorative materials, among others, for a long time now.

For example, the first nanohybrid composite, Grandio, was released on the market in 2003 and represented a new standard in the product category. The product range was complemented by its further development, Grandioso, and a whole range of other line extensions.

The purely ceramic-based restorative material

In 2015, Voco established the first ‘ceramic for filling’ on the market with the nanohybrid ormocer Admira Fusion – a purely ceramic-based universal restorative material.

Silicon oxide forms the chemical base for the nanohybrid ormocer restorative material Admira Fusion, not only for the fillers but also for the resin matrix. This special ‘pure silicate technology’ offers several remarkable advantages in one: for example, the fact that Admira Fusion shows by far the lowest level of polymerisation shrinkage (1.25% by volume) and extremely low shrinkage stress, says the company.

The ormocers (‘organically modified ceramics’) used in the manufacture of Admira Fusion make it highly biocompatible, as it doesn’t contain classic monomers.

Admira Fusion’s particularly high colour-stability gives it an additional edge and allows its absolutely universal use – for the highest demands in both the anterior and posterior regions.

This extremely homogeneous material offers outstanding handling and is compatible with all conventional bonding materials.

Fluoride-containing varnish for tooth desensitisation

Voco Profluorid Varnish, the tried-and-tested fluoride varnish for desensitisation, is available in five tasty flavours, including the new flavour: bubblegum. The fruity sweetness of bubblegum is the perfect addition to the existing flavours of melon, caramel, cherry and mint.

With its high fluoride content (22,600 ppm), large selection of flavours and various application forms (tube, cartridge and singledose), Voco Profluorid Varnish offers the ideal combination of effective prophylaxis, patient-friendliness and user convenience.

Voco Profluorid Varnish adheres well to dental hard tissue and can also be used on moist surfaces. Thanks to its white-transparent shade, optimal dental aesthetics are also preserved.

Solutions for digital prosthetics

Since April 2017, Voco has also been offering solutions for digital prosthetics. For example, the many years of expertise in the field of composite materials have now been successfully transferred to the CAD/CAM composite blocks Grandio blocs, which boast an above-average strength which sets them apart from comparable products.

Additionally, the range contains the Solflex 3D printers for laboratories and practices, available in three sizes along with corresponding printing materials.

As an internationally renowned specialist in dental materials, Voco markets its more than 100 products in more than 100 countries. In fact, export sales now account for 80% of the company’s turnover.

Over 440 members of staff in Germany and a further 390 country-specific sales representatives abroad contribute to its global success. Voco maintains subsidiaries in the USA, Canada, Brazil and Australia, as well as local representative offices in Shanghai and Istanbul.

Moreover, Voco enjoys close contact with more than 150 universities and research institutes located all over the world – this collaboration is the key to the continuous development of innovative product concepts.
