This Wednesday saw the launch of Align Technology’s first Invisalign Connect pop up at London’s Westfield shopping centre.

The attractive, interactive pop up shop is located in one of the city’s busiest shopping centres, with thousands of daily visitors – including prospective patients who may be interested in teeth straightening.

The launch was attended by Abhishek Ganguly, vice president GP channel, Alexandra van der Stap, vice president of consumer, Dan Gallagher, general manager GP, Abigail Lander, general manager ortho channel and members of the press.

It is hoped that bringing the Invisalign brand directly to consumers in a digital and consumer-friendly environment, consumers will be informed about the benefits of well-aligned teeth, as well as to connect them with the trained Invisalign providers of their choice who will determine if they are the right candidate for treatment.

Visitors are able to browse and ask questions and learn about the benefits of teeth straightening with an Invisalign treatment and also see a SmileView simulation of what their smile could look like after treatment.

Invisalign staff present onsite will help the visitors navigate through the pop-up’s digital consumer journey and answer questions, related to teeth straightening.

Invisalign trained staff are not clinicians or doctors.

The consumers interested in a treatment will be referred directly to an Invisalign trained doctor of their choice to assess their suitability for the treatment.

Align Technology EMEA senior vice president and managing director, Markus Sebastian, said: ‘We are delighted to be launching the first Invisalign Connect location in the EMEA region, and we couldn’t think of a better location than London.

‘Invisalign Connect is a new consumer programme that taps into Align’s efforts to keep consumers informed about the benefits of clear aligner therapy under a doctors supervision, and to connect them with an Invisalign trained doctor of their choice.

I believe Invisalign Connect Pop-Up will make a great addition to our existing consumer programs in the UK and in the region’.

Alexandra van der Stap added: ‘Consumer demand for teeth straightening is increasing, making it more important than ever to connect interested consumers with trained Invisalign doctors.

‘Last year alone, more than 3.5 million users visited Invisalign consumer websites in EMEA, looking for teeth straightening.

‘We believe our role is to facilitate the connection between consumers and doctors.

Thanks to Invisalign Connect programme, we will be able to inform consumers about the benefits of teeth straightening and ensure they visit an Invisalign trained doctor of their choice who will supervise their treatment, helping them achieve a new, straighter smile’.
