Clyde Munro records its most successful year to date

An ambitious dental group has revealed its most successful year on record. Clyde Munro is rapidly expanding to a total of 40 practices through careful acquisition – despite establishing less than five years ago.

Jim Hall founded Clyde Munro, an entirely Scottish-based and Scottish-focused dental group, in 2015 with the initial acquisition of seven practices. The success of its exclusively Scottish-focused growth plan now sees a total of nearly 170 associates engaged with the group and 330 staff employed across the group. It treats more than 300,000 patients across Scotland.

Practices that join the group retain the names and identities they have built over many years. While benefiting from personalised help with business functions including HR, accounts, marketing, compliance and facilities management.

Clyde Munro Dental Group’s strategy of rapid growth through acquisition has proved hugely successful. Now treating around one in 20 of the Scottish population, the group is continuing to grow on a monthly basis.

Clyde Munro acquired 21 practices last year alone with two more already completed this year. An additional seven are in the pipeline for the coming months. With further expansion planned, more and more practices will enjoy the benefits of being part of a bigger group.

Clinical conference

Last year also saw Clyde Munro hold its fourth and largest annual clinical conference to date. The conference brought together more than 100 dental professionals from across the country. Attendance at the two-day event was double that of the previous year. There was also a trade fair and high quality CPD accreditations.

Clyde Munro helped raise more than £2,000 for Alzheimer Scotland at the conference. A number of dental labs donated prizes for a silent auction. Clyde Munro matched the total raised by conference attendees at the end of the evening.

The dental group has also partnered with the Dementia Friends initiative, run by Alzheimer Scotland, to provide comprehensive access to bespoke information sessions for its teams. The programme is helping to increase understanding and awareness of the condition across the company.

The first 100 staff at Clyde Munro have now completed their session at the group’s flagship practice in Glasgow City. Clyde Munro is now rolling out the initiative to all other practices.

The dental group will be the first to roll out the initiative to its ever-growing patient base. This offers them the opportunity to become Dementia Friends through their registered practice.

‘Exciting’ year for Clyde Munro

Jim Hall, founder and chief executive of the group, said: ‘As well as looking to what is new, it’s also vital we continue to work with each individual practice, ensuring we help them to be at the cutting-edge of patient care.

‘It’s set to be an exciting 2020 for Clyde Munro – and we’ll all be striving to meet new ambitious targets and keep getting better and better at what we do.’

Clyde Munro’s ambition is to become Scotland’s ‘local dentist’, operating an expanding network of family dentists across Scotland, with each devoted to providing the best dental care, while reflecting the needs and character of its community, including remote and rural areas.
