Dr Hurley is also calling on dental teams to volunteer to assist frontline NHS efforts.

In her latest changes, she encouraged the industry to respond to local and national calls for help.

This includes redeployment to the new Nightingale Hospital that is being set up in London to lessen the service impact of COVID-19.

In a bid to maximise the efforts of volunteers, Dr Hurley has issued a survey to help with the production of an effective redeployment framework.

This will take into consideration the skills and competencies of those signing up.
