Another year of smiles: Mydentist Excellence Awards 2025

Mydentist celebrates its 2025 Excellence Awards winners, making another year of outstanding dentistry across the mydentist network.

Mydentist, a leading UK provider of affordable dental care, hosted an evening of celebration at its 2025 Excellence Awards on Friday 10 October. The annual event brings the organisation together to mark the achievements and hard work of the clinicians who choose to practise with the provider, along with all practice, support centre, and field colleagues.

This year’s awards ceremony was hosted by Jason Manford and took place at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, following CLINCON25, a two-day event that brought together hundreds of delegates for panel discussions, inspiring keynote speakers, and industry-leading CPD sessions.

Established back in 2015, the Excellence Awards are held annually to celebrate outstanding individuals and teams across mydentist who make a real difference through their exceptional work. Anyone within the mydentist network can be nominated across the various award categories, with winners being selected by a panel of colleagues representing a diverse mix of clinical and non-clinical roles.

The award categories reflect the wide range of roles across mydentist, from Dentist of the Year and Practice Team of the Year to Support Centre and Young Dentist of the Year, recognising excellence of talent across every level of the organisation.

‘We inspire our staff to go above and beyond’

Nilesh Pandya, CEO of mydentist, said: ‘Through the incredible work that our teams do, we’re able to help millions of people across the nation smile with confidence each year. Our annual Excellence Awards are a chance to recognise and celebrate that dedication.

‘It’s so important that we take the time to acknowledge the people who make our success possible, those who go above and beyond to care for our patients, support their colleagues, and help our business grow. Their passion, skill, and commitment are at the heart of everything we achieve as an organisation.’

Nilesh concluded: ‘By highlighting excellence, we inspire our staff to go above and beyond, ensuring every patient receives the best possible treatment and experience. These awards reaffirm our commitment to putting patient wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.’

‘A dynamic, energetic organisation’

Tom Riall, executive chairman of the mydentist board, commented: ‘Our annual Excellence Awards is the celebration of all the wonderful, dedicated and hard-working teams and clinicians who work and practise at mydentist.

‘It was so very special to be able to present the Chairman’s Award for Exceptional Contribution to Dr Ruth Patefield, after an astounding three decades of service to the business.

‘It’s a joy to be part of such a dynamic, energetic organisation and our growth and success would not be possible without the dedication of all our people. I’d like to congratulate all our finalists and award winners, along with everyone who was shortlisted.’

Nyree Whitley, chief clinical officer at mydentist, added: ‘We’ve had another fantastic evening celebrating our annual Excellence Awards. It’s a wonderful opportunity to recognise everything that makes mydentist so special – our people and the incredible support they show one another. The awards truly embody the values we stand for at mydentist and demonstrates the high level of talent we have across the organisation.’

An exciting time to be part of the future of dental care

Alexanne Martin, Young Dentist of the Year, said: ‘I feel so grateful to have been recognised with the award for Young Dentist of the Year. I started working for mydentist in 2018, straight out of foundation training, and the support and training opportunities offered have been instrumental in my professional growth and development.

‘Reading the nominations my colleagues wrote about me made me feel so seen and appreciated, which we all know is gold dust in a workplace, and to have my colleagues cheering me on at the awards felt so special.

‘In terms of what the future holds for me, I’m currently completing a post graduate diploma in restorative dentistry, and the practice team in Haslingden have been so supportive with buying new equipment to enable me to develop new techniques. I really feel like the sky’s the limit and this is just the beginning.’
