Dental group Mydentist has announced a partnership with Bridgepoint, former owner of Oasis Dental Care, which will provide fresh investment and expertise.
Mydentist said the partnership would accelerate its strategy of digital innovation. This includes investing in technological advancements such as intraoral scanners, hiring more staff and upgrading facilities.
Bridgepoint is an investment group with stakes in companies such as Itsu and Burger King. It also previously owned Oasis Dental Care before the group was acquired by Bupa in 2017.
Mydentist has more than 500 practices across the UK, supporting around four million patients.
The current management team will remain in place at Mydentist, led by chief executive officer Nilesh Pandya and chief clinical officer Nyree Whitley.

An ‘exciting new chapter’
Nilesh Pandya described the investment as an ‘exciting new chapter for Mydentist’. He said: ‘We are deeply proud of the business we have built to date, and I would like to thank Palamon for their support over the last few years. Our new partnership with Bridgepoint will provide the deep market knowledge and expert resources to help us accelerate the next stage of our growth, ensuring we can provide high-quality, affordable oral care to more patients than ever before.
‘We will achieve this by driving digital innovation to optimise our clinical outcomes and patient journey, investing further and faster in our state-of-the-art practice network to transform how dentistry is delivered and bring it into accessible consumer settings, and continue expanding our industry leading support team so that we can truly be the best place to work anywhere in UK dentistry.’
Nyree Whitley said: ‘As a practising clinician, I am so proud of the support we’re able to provide to all of our colleagues – whether that is the investments we’ve made in our dental nurses and wider practice teams, who are so critical to the success of our clinicians, or by rolling out the latest digital technology and the leading clinical support team to help clinicians grow the careers that are right for them.
‘With this new partnership, I know we can continue building on our past success, transforming not just mydentist, but how dentistry is delivered in the UK altogether.’
