New partnership to support leadership, culture and sustainability in dental practices

Dentistry is delighted to announce a new partnership with Go Practice Green and Great Boss Academy. It will offer dental leaders practical tools to build well-led, high-performing practices where people thrive, patients stay, and sustainability becomes part of the culture.

Led by experienced coach and CSR advocate Mark Topley, the partnership brings together two powerful platforms. This includes Go Practice Green, the UK’s leading dental sustainability initiative, and Great Boss Academy, a leadership and culture programme tailored specifically for dental practice owners and managers.

Together, they offer a joined-up approach to three of the profession’s biggest challenges: recruitment, retention, and regulation.

Guy Hiscott, content director at FMC, said: ‘Being a well-led practice today means more than just ticking compliance boxes. It’s about team culture, clear leadership, and standing for something your team can believe in. This partnership brings real-world tools and guidance to help practices lead better, keep their best people, and meet the evolving expectations of the CQC and other regulators. We’re excited to be working with Mark and his team to deliver that.’

As part of the collaboration, Dentistry, Dentistry Compliance, and Dentistry CPD audiences will gain access to:

  • Leadership and culture training through Great-Boss.com
  • Sustainability audits, templates, and CPD through GoPracticeGreen.com
  • Exclusive discounts on accredited programmes and on-demand learning
  • Insights to help practice leaders build resilient teams and future-proof their business.

Lead with purpose

Dr Pat Langley is clinical director at FMC and Dentistry Compliance. She said: ‘The CQC wants to know if a practice is providing care that is safe and effective, that the practice team is responsive and caring and that the practice is well-led.

‘Of these five key questions, the one that causes most confusion is “well-led”. This might explain why it is an area often found lacking at a CQC inspection. Our collaboration with Mark and his team brings a great opportunity for dental practice leaders to gain a much better understanding of what “well-led” means and why it is such a pivotal part of having a successful practice.’

Mark Topley added: ‘Recruitment, retention, culture, compliance, sustainability – they’re not separate challenges. They’re all signs of whether a practice is well-led. Through this partnership, we’re making it easier for leaders to take action – to fix what’s not working, strengthen what is, and lead with purpose and clarity.

‘Whether it’s your team, your systems, or your sustainability, we’re here to help you build a practice people want to be part of.’
