Dental technician is BAC(K)D!

Award-winning dental technician, Luke Barnett, has been re-elected to the Board of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry after a hiatus of four years.

Dental lab owner, Luke, said: 'I left the board in 2008 when I took over the new Luke Barnett Lab premises and needed to spend more time on my business. However, I always hoped to return one day as I believe the BACD to be a hugely valuable resource both for dentists and technicians.'

He was the first technician to achieve the levels of excellence required to obtain BACD Accreditation and sits on the accreditation board of examiners.

One of his new remits is to widen the appeal of the BACD to even more dentists and technicians.

He ssaid: 'If you have ideas and comments about how we can make the BACD more relevant to you, I want to hear from you.'

Luke and his team have established themselves as one of the UK’s most influential ceramic specialists working from their cutting-edge facility in Watford, Hertfordshire.

The team also scooped Private Dentistry Laboratory of the Year in 2010 and 2011.

Luke is on the editorial board of Dental Technician, Private Dentistry and Premium Practice Dentistry and is a judge for the Smile Awards and Private Dentistry awards.
