A Practice Manager/Business manager is needed to start as soon as possible for a practice in Solihull.

This is a 4 surgery practice using Software of Excellence, a mixed NHS and private practice (80% private) committed to excellent patient care at the highest standards and with the newest digital techniques
The practical role of the Practice Business Manager and PA can be divided into several main areas that need to be controlled with authority of the owner;
Health and Safety Management
IT & Technology Management
Human Resource Management
Physical Resource Management
Marketing Services & Sales Management
The duties of the Business Manager and PA will include;
Practice Finance, including day-to-day accounting and wages.
Financial Planning and reporting
Liaising with accountants re monthly management accounts & PAYE
Plan, create and implement business plans – 1, 3, 5 year visions
Prepare monthly spreadsheets and financial information, including Key Performance
Liaising with Bank, Insurers, Solicitors and all suppliers
Supervising the Business Development of the practice.
90 day reviews of planning and achieving
Review and develop current brand standards
Ensure a robust patient journey is in place, where customer service is at the forefront of everything
Deal with patient complaints and feedback in a confident and timely manner
Produce and maintain the Practice Operating Manual
Estate and Equipment Management – including maintenance, servicing, repair, renewal, utilities and security in line with current legislation and/or
Human Resources – “Hiring and Firing”, appraisals and interviews
Manage (and actually ‘lead’) the whole team with confidence
Manage behaviours – disciplinary, capability and grievance fair and confident
Create, plan, schedule and maintain accurate CPD (records) for all team members
Organise and chair team development and team meetings
Planning and organisation of staff training days and outings
Compliance with Health and Safety, Employment, and other regulations
As the CQC registered manager you will ensure all practice policies are in line with current guidance through thorough knowledge and operation of CQC Fundamental Standards
Train the team to ensure they are aware of individual roles & responsibilities and are knowledgeable & confident with current legislation.
Marketing – external and internal – and strategic planning, this includes liaising with the Marketing Champion on the content of the Website, Social Media (Active Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts), the monthly newsletter and organization of events and offers.
Train and establish TCO’s – subsequent implementation of robust TCO and Patient Journey process & procedures
Welcome Pack and ‘in-house’ literature – liaise with designers on design and content. Review every 6/m
Practice Membership plan – train team – grow plan numbers
IT and Technology management
Personal Assistant, which includes but is not limited to planning, organising and booking her diary and (travel) arrangements
Other duties as required
Flexibility and initiative is important and it is not beyond the Business Manager and PA to change a light bulb if required.
The person suitable for this position must have a great deal of flexibility and realise that the job description is an outline of a position which is new and evolving and will make the job description a work in progress, until fine-tuned. The outline of the job will change as the practice develops.

No prior experience of Dentistry is required.
Good numeracy skills are essential and a background in business desirable.
You must be willing to take part and train staff in role play, have high levels of self-esteem and low levels of sickness, be willing to undergo external training, be able to lead and motivate a first-class practice team
