This independent mixed dental practice are seeking a Dental Receptionist to start as soon as possible

The role is to work full time Monday – Friday

Working hours will be 8:30am – 5:30pm each day with 1 hour for lunch. On Thursdays the working hours will be 9:30am-6:30pm.

Employment duties:

1. Perform a high quality reception and administration service to ensure patient satisfaction and maximum contribution to practice efficiency, effectiveness and profitability in line with the GDC guidelines and practice policies
2. Establish and maintain productive working relationships with all members of the dental team
3. Liaise with the practice manager on all matters concerning administration, pay and service conditions
4. Assist with the supervision of the trainee receptionist in the practice

Key tasks

1. Answer the telephone and deal with patient enquiries in a positive, efficient and friendly manner
2. Receive and deal with patients and visitors in a pleasant and prompt manner
3. Keep patients informed of any delays
4. Notify dentists/hygienists of patients’ arrivals
5. Schedule patient appointments in accordance with the practice policies and keep records of all appointments and remind patients of their appointments as required
6. Prepare day sheets for each dentist, hygienist/therapist
7. Collect and record patient payments and pursue any debts in accordance with the practice payments policy
8. Follow computer procedures to ensure that patient records are properly maintained
9. Carry out routine house-keeping procedures on the computer, including undertaking regular back-ups in line with practice policies
10. Liaise with dental laboratories, suppliers and other organisations as required, keeping records of laboratory work in and out
11. Deal in an appropriate and prompt manner with patient feedback and inform the practice manager / assistant practice manager about patient comments and complaints
12. Manage the sales of dental sundries to patients and ensure patients are provided with the opportunity to buy sundries when they leave the practice
13. Keep the office, patient’s toilet and reception area tidy and welcoming
14. Identify his/her own training and development needs and undertake appropriate training as agreed with the line manager during appraisal
15. Provide feedback on the performance of the trainee receptionist that you supervise
16. Assist throughout the practice and perform such other tasks as reasonably requested by the principal
17. Attend all practice meetings as requested

This is a 4 surgery dental practice which use Software of Excellence

Salary is dependent on experience and to be discussed further at interview stage. They are looking at £16,640 with a view to raise up to £17,680 after 3 months.
