Permanent role, 33 hours a week plus overtime for 1 late night and Friday morning every 6-8 weeks, 37.5 hours a week from new year, salary negotiable dependent on experience

We need a Dental Receptionist to start working in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

Job role
Ensure the efficient day-to-day management of the patient’s journey.


·To maintain good customer relations with all patients and parents
·To schedule appointment according to office guidelines
·To maintain good customer relations with referring dentists
·To assist in all areas of the practice as needed
·Observe patient confidentiality at all times
·To portray a professional attitude to doctors, staff, patients/parents and to referring dentists
·To assist with maintaining the NHS payment claims and receipts, checking monthly schedules
·To assist with maintaining up to date private and NHS waiting lists
·Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with Data Protection and GDPR regulations.


·Answers the telephone in a timely manner, in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner
·Ensure that the appointment system is efficient and accurate
·Welcome all patients arriving at the practice
·Telephone new patients one or two days before their appointment
·Liaises with TC with regards to any private patients.
·When possible forward all private new patient enquiries to the Head TC or Private Receptionist
·Help maintain an up to date record of all private new patient enquiries
·Collect and record payments accurately
·Ensure patient records are complete correctly before filing and storing them in an efficient, tidy and secure manner
·Ensure all records are uploaded onto patient medical notes in a prompt manner
·Ensure all referrals are added to the system within 5 working days of being received by the practice
·Complete all relevant forms for NHS and private schemes within a specified timescale
·Encourage prompt payments and chase any outstanding debts according to the practice policy
·Liaise with dental labs, supply companies and other organisations as required
·Compile day sheet
·Maintain office and reception area, keeping it clean and tidy at all times
·Ensure all literature is up to date, stamped at the back of brochure and visibly displayed
·Liaise with Business Manager regarding reception supplies in order to maintain adequate stock levels
·Provide an accurate end of day chasing up sheet to the Admin Manager
·Confirm long appointments (1 hour and over) by telephone at least 2 days before
·Supports the Business Manager and Practice Directors with the practice marketing (in-house and external) at all times
·Liaises and maintains a positive relationship with all referring dentists
·Ensure the operation of the patient recall system
·Manage the sales of dental sundries to patients and ensure they are provided with the
opportunity to buy sundries.
·Assist with the compliance and regulatory requirements
·Other duties as necessary for the efficient operation of the practice
·Undergo training as may be required to develop your skills and abilities
·Attend refresher and update training for medical emergencies and CPR
·Act in accordance with the practice rule and code of conduct
·Work at other practice locations from time to time as required
