OneSG was created by three individuals driven by the ambition to improve the levels of support and professionalism to the dental sector.
Mark Thomas, Paul Dutton and Alex Rogers (pictured) left one of the leading dental corporates to set up OneSG, a decision all three agree was worth the risk. OneSG – also referred to as One Solution Group – is an outsourcing support services company providing finance, facilities, human resources and IT support to the dental sector.
When asked what motivated them to take the plunge, Paul Dutton, managing director explains: ‘We felt there was a niche in the market to replicate the “in-house support centre” functionality that the bigger corporates benefit from by providing professional support to individual practices, smaller groups and mini corporates.
‘Most dental practices or groups will already be using the services of various suppliers, or administering these activities in-house. However, the true benefits of OneSG are that we are able to provide an all-encompassing business support solution within the single package, making life much simpler for our clients.’
He adds: ‘All solutions are bespoke and tailored to meet our client’s requirements. OneSG’s enthusiasm coupled with our open and honest approach ensures a great working relationship for all concerned.’
The three directors have 30 years-plus expertise in their specialist fields, spanning accountancy, manufacturing, healthcare, retail and the legal sectors, working for global organisations, SMEs and the sole trader.
Initially, the company offered only finance and facilities support. However, it quickly became apparent – through listening to clients – that they truly wanted a one-stop shop for all of their business support needs, a true ‘one solution’.
Recognising that they had to react to demand, the company directors recruited Hannah Morgan, from a leading international law firm, and appointed her human resources manager and Nigel MacDonald as ICT manager.
Nigel had previously held senior management positions in IT and marketing within the corporate retail sector. The plan was to provide the sector with a professional, cost-effective, fixed price, transparent solution which then enables the dentist and the practice team to focus on dental excellence, the patient experience and increasing revenue.
Mark Thomas and Alex Rogers, accountants by trade and fellow directors, add: ‘In addition to the day-to-day core services of purchase ledger, payroll, dentist pay, NHS contract management, etc, as well as end-of-year requirements such as net pensionable earnings declarations, OneSG has vast experience in practice acquisitions and disposals for dental corporates, small dental groups and single site practices.
‘This industry-specific knowledge allows for a thorough due diligence process, ensuring accurate business valuations, minimising the risk of your investments. On a monthly basis, OneSG can prepare a comprehensive management information pack that ensures the dentist understands all aspects of the practice’s performance and profitability.
‘Industry specific management accounts (including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and cashflows) coupled with a bespoke KPI pack will provide all relevant information to increase the bottom line. This may be of particular relevance if the dentist is preparing a practice for sale, as this service offering will assist in achieving maximum value.’
