Dream dental double bill at a city near you

After a sell-out Profitable Perio meetings series in Belfast and Glasgow earlier this year, Philips is staging a series of regional meetings on the theme of Prevention is better than cure – periodontitis vs peri-implantitis.

For one week in November 2011, the roadshow will visit Manchester (7), Birmingham (8), Cambridge (9), Oxford (10) and Bristol (11), where the duo of Professor Edward Lynch, Head of Warwick University and periodontist Ian Peace will advocate a preventive and innovative approach to dentistry.

They are taking to the road to show dental professionals how this approach can be both beneficial to the patient and the practice.

The day long meetings will include the following subjects:

– Top tips for quality clinical dentistry
– Faster, easier and better dentistry
– Minimally invasive dentistry for the 21st Century
– How to include prevention as part of every consultation
– Patient motivation
– Profitable prevention
– Interdental cleaning using technology in practice

Professor Edward Lynch is head of Warwick Dentistry, University of Warwick and a specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics and Prosthodontics as well as a BUPA Consultant in Oral Surgery.

He was voted the most influential person in UK Dentistry in 2010 and elected for 2010-2011 as the President of GORG in the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).

He was also elected as the next President of the Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutics research groups in the IADR in 2011.

He was honoured in December 2010 with being awarded the 2010 Outstanding Achievement Award and in November 2010 received the prestigious accreditation from the American Society for Dental Aesthetics.

A hugely influential academic with a bulging CV and numerous publications to his name Edward Lynch has been awarded more than 90 research grants (totalling over £5 million), has successfully supervised more than 50 MSc, MPhil and PhD students, and been awarded many prizes for his research.

He is a highly entertaining and engaging speaker whose lectures are always massively oversubscribed.
