GDP Implant World will be held at the Park Plaza Riverbank, in London, where it will put its emphasis on getting clinicians and suppliers to meet face to face.
In a field where new technologies and equipment are emerging all the time, it’s a unique opportunity to find implant suppliers, manufacturers and educators under one roof.
It’s a perfect introduction to implant dentistry for those new to it, and a great opportunity for more experienced clinicians to broaden their horizons. Perhaps best of all, it’s completely free of charge to attend!
Although the main event will be the wealth of implant companies lining up to talk to dental professionals, there’s an extra draw in the shape of the day’s bitesize lecture schedule.
These lectures will complement the exhibition by helping delegates keep on top of their current legal and ethical obligations.
Stephen Henderson, a specialist in oral surgery and senior dento-legal adviser for Dental Protection (DPL), will discuss Issues of consent in implant dentistry and other medico-legal challenges.
He will describe the consent process for implant dentistry and the requirements for documenting the evidence of consent. Drawing on examples from DPL’s extensive closed cases file, he will also discuss the challenges implant dentists face at various stages of their career, including complaints and regulatory investigations.
Julian English, FMC’s editorial director and editor of Dentistry magazine, will host two sessions that explain the new standards in implant dentistry.
The General Dental Council (GDC) replaced its Standards Guidance on 30 September 2013. It now judges dentists against this ‘bible’ of recommendations of best practice and guidance.
Julian will demystify the new guidance and explain how the new standards affect implant dentists and their teams.
With something for everyone involved with implant dentistry, GDP Implant World 2014 is the first essential implant event of the new year – and with free attendance, there’s nothing to lose by booking your complimentary tickets today!
