Michael Carroll has announced his resignation as council member and chair of the Finance and Performance Committee at the GDC.
Pointing to personal commitments, making it difficult to continue with his work, Michael will leave the GDC in October.
‘Since its inception in 2014, and consistent with advancing the high performance aspirations of a modern day organisation, very significant progress has been made in the delivery of a financial and performance agenda underpinned by the introduction of new business processes and a range of performance management tools.
‘I am sure that this progress will continue unabated and that the GDC will benefit as the organisation strives to successfully meet the challenges and opportunities in the dental arena.’
Commenting on his departure, chief executive of the General Dental Council (GDC), Ian Brack, said: ‘I want to thank Michael for his significant support for the GDC.
‘His stewardship of the Finance and Performance Committee has been instrumental in helping to develop our management information and financial forecasting capabilities.
‘We are now in a position where we have a far better understanding of our productivity and costs, and through improved forecasting, we can identify problems earlier so we are able to take the necessary action.
‘These tools will be of key importance in helping us to become an efficient and high performing organisation.’
