Five key benefits of using Theracem CA!

Here, Optident explores BISCO’s latest trusted product, Theracem CA; examining five key benefits of its use in practice.

With a variety of materials available for the construction of indirect restorations, resin cements remain a firm favourite; boasting high retention bond strength and low solubility.

Unsurprisingly, in recent years, the use of self-adhesive resin cements has increased in popularity, eliminating the multiple steps required for bonding (etching, drying, priming).

As a critical decision in determining the long-term success of a restoration, it is vital that the correct cement is selected.

1. Calcium releasing

As the name suggests, Theracem CA is a calcium (and fluoride) releasing cement, featuring continuous ion release.

Indicated for luting crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays and posts, Theracem CA contains calcium silicate; which studies have suggested can potentially assist with the restoration of tooth structure.

2. Strong bond to zirconia

Theracam CA is dual cured, featuring a strong bond to zirconia (and most substrates), without the need for separate chemical primers.

As you would expect with any high quality self-adhesive resin cement, no priming or etching is required; saving valuable time for both practitioner and patient.

3. High degree of conversion and radiopaque properties

Offering a high degree of conversion, Theracem CA improves physical properties for added bond strength.

Theracem CA is also highly radiopaque, making it easy to identify on radiographs, facilitating quick and effective diagnosis.

4. Alkaline pH

Theracem CA has been uniquely designed to transition from an acidic pH (needed for initial bonding), to a preferred alkaline pH, within minutes.

Achieving an alkaline pH after curing, Theracem CA ensures reliable and durable cementation of indirect restorations.

5. Ease of use

With Theracem CA clean-up is quick and easy, requiring simple hand instruments and floss.

For your convenience, the product features an 18-month shelf life and does not require refrigeration when not in use.

The special formula allows for easy cement clean up, resulting in significantly reduced chair time, and increased satisfaction for clinician and patient.

An auto mix, dual-syringe provides further ease of use, providing a consistent mix, and immediate delivery.

The next generation cement

Theracem CA is truly the next generation cement, saving you both time and money; whilst providing you and your patients with a superior cement with a range of innovative features.
